Many people have heard of the great Persian mystic poet, Rumi, but few know the story behind his poems. In this workshop you'll learn all about Rumi's relationship with his beloved friend Shams of Tabriz, and how that relationship broke him and liberated him at the same time. Poetry woven into asana will give us insight into both his heart and our own hearts, because Rumi's story is our story. It's a tale of love, loss, emptiness and what fills that emptiness. We will dance on our mats like the whirling dervishes of ancient Persia, encountering some arm balances and backbendsalong the way, and landing in the sweetest savasana. All levels.
